Argentina Travel Guide and FAQ’s

Below are typical questions you may have when traveling to Argentina, as well as if you’re deciding to move to Argentina as a digital nomad. I had these same questions, concerns, and curiosities. They are answered by my personal experience, current statistics, public knowledge, and from local Argentine’s I know.

Is Argentina Safe?

Yes, overall Argentina is very safe. Of course there are areas you should stay away from, and that is what makes a conscious and smart traveler. Argentina is in the top 3 of the safest countries in Latin America, competing with Uruguay and Chile, even though Argentina has a Level 1 travel advisory by the US Department of State, while Chile and Uruguay have a Level 2, Exercise Increased Caution.

Is Buenos Aires Safe? – Yes it is safe with caution and awareness, and knowing the right areas. I wrote a guide on the safety within Buenos Aires, which is probably the first place you’ll go when visiting Argentina.

You can read that guide here: Is Buenos Aires Safe for Tourists? The Honest Truth From A 3-Month Stay (2026) – Updated April 2026, I have stayed 5 Months in Buenos Aires so far.

How is it really living in Buenos Aires?

Buenos Aires is a great place to stay as a digital nomad. It is a city with good infastructure, cafe’s, wifi, parks and plaza’s, food and more.
